This Jacobethan Revival Home was built in the 1880s. Newspapers and notes from a century ago were found during renovation. The deed for the land from Miami Chief Le Gris/LeGros to John Tipton was written during the Treaty of Paradise Spring negotiations in 1826.

Many families are known to have lived in this house. This includes the Van Dyke, Barlow, Finch, Williams, Baker, Gillespie, and Todd families.
